March 24th sees the release of “Everything Happens For A Reason”, Kiko’s brand new album featuring vocals from Concha Buika, Han Lei and guest appearances from DJ Spen, Boris Dlugosch and Gabriele Poso.
On 2nd december of last year has been released the first single teaming up with legendary vocalist Julie McKnight for soulful gem “All Because Of You”. Filled with bright, airy strings, warm synths and broken beats, not to mention the stunning vocal, Kiko’s original version feels like an instant classic. Remixed by Kiko’s alter ego KOKI, Karim Sahraoui and Steve Mill.
we asked our friends around the World to help us create a video for Kiko Navarro’s new single ‘All Because Of You’ featuring Julie McKnight, the incredible vocalist behind Kings Of Tomorrow’s classic song ‘Finally‘.
The response was overwhelming, with friends and fans from across the globe filming themselves playing, drumming, singing and dancing for Kiko.
Atmospheric and effortlessly cool, ‘All Because Of You sees McKnight’s sweet, full vocal placed over simple synth bass, gradually building intensity toward a powerful and emotional crescendo.
Described as a “Future Classic” (CJ Mackintosh) and “Absolutely Necessary” (Soul Clap).
“I think nowadays is very difficult to really invent something in music, almost everything is already invented (and I say “almost” to leave an space for things that still can surprise us). I think is a matter of combining different things, but the most important is to do it with love, to really feel what you do, trying to transmit an emotion, a message. I think there is a lot of love in acid basslines; the filter, amount of resonance and other parameters permit you to express different feelings. Could be rage, could be happiness. It depends how you express them by tweaking the knobs.”
We are delighted to present this special pair of tracks from Spanish producer and DJ Kiko Navarro on glorious 12″ vinyl, providing a glimpse of his much anticipated forthcoming album ‘Everything Happens For A Reason’.
Opening track ‘Twilight‘ will need no introduction for crate diggers and 80’s club kids. A complete remaking of the Maze classic, Kiko’s version raises the tempo into deep house territory, retaining the dreamy, sensual feel of Frankie Beverly’s original.
Providing a sumptuous taste of the old- school, Kiko’s own acid-laden, energetic dub version of ‘Twilight’ is sure to wreak havoc on the dance-floor, with perhaps a little hint of good old fashioned euphoria as it reaches it’s synth string-filled climax.
On the B-Side ‘Cranc‘ provides a raw, analogue, Detroit-esque synth jam, building an intense groove with an insistent, wrong- footing bassline underpinning dizzying arpeggios, jazzy stabs and warm chords.
